Charmilla recipe with merguez
This recipe is easy and quick to prepare, full of flavor, stuffed with grilled vegetables, and this time also stuffed with merguez!
Of all the sausages, merguez is one of my favorites. It's quick to fry and goes with so many dishes, plus it's so delicious on bread with some juicy veggies! So plenty of inspiration! There is always room for merguez with me
Merguez is a dark, spicy sausage made from beef or mutton. This delicacy is very popular in Morocco and all over North Africa and should definitely not be missed in our home. If you are not yet familiar with these, I definitely recommend them! They really are one of the most delicious sausages you can have.
Ingredients:
- 500 g merguez
- 60 ml olive oil
- 1 yellow onion
- 2 grilled peppers
- 1 pepper
- 2 garlic
- 20 g coriander
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 g black pepper
- 2 g paprika
- 3 g salt
- 10 g sambal
- 3 eggs
Praparation:
Add the merguez to the pan and fry for a few minutes. Set the merguez aside.
- Grill the peppers. Cut the onion, bell pepper and pepper into strips.
- Chop the tomato and garlic small. Finely chop the cilantro.
- Heat the olive oil in the pan. Add the onion and fry for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Add the grilled bell pepper, pepper, garlic and cilantro.
- Cook all the ingredients for about 5 minutes.
- Add the tomato, black pepper, paprika and salt. Stir everything together.
- Turn the heat on high. When it starts to simmer, turn the heat to its lowest setting.
- Add the sambal and place a lid on top. Cook the charmilla for about 10 minutes, remembering to stir in.
- Spread the merguez on top and cook with it for a few minutes.
- Add the eggs, place the lid on top and cook with it for a few minutes.
Tips:
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Add sambal to taste.
- Replace sambal with cayenne pepper.
- If you don't like spicy, you can omit the sambal.
- Use your favorite merguez.
- Add garlic to taste.
- Serve this charmilla with fresh bread.
- You can also grill the merguez.
